Providence Christian Academy of Lampasas celebrated the end of the school’s second year with a musical production and teacher appreciation week. On the evenings of May 10-11, students performed ‘The Fire Within,” an original musical written and directed by Juliana Dwamena, the school’s theater instructor.

The Browning Community Garden Club held its annual flower show on May 4, with 157 entries across five divisions. Ann Laver won 13 first-place ribbons, which earned her the Sweepstakes Award.

Seven Kline Whitis Elementary School students were recognized for their artistic efforts in the Texas Department of State Health Services’ annual Rabies Awareness & Prevention Poster Contest. The contest is open for all Texas students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

HILLSDALE CEMETERY ASSOCIATION The annual meeting of Hillsdale Cemetery Association will be May 18 at 10 a.m. at the cemetery, off Slater Road northeast of Izoro. The GPS address is 278 Hillsdale Rd. in Coryell County.

The Taylor Creek Elementary fifth-grade choir recently made several stops in downtown Lampasas. Here, the group performs at First Texas Bank under the direction of Candace Byers, assisted by flutist Savanna Esse.

Community Bridge players met April 15 with six tables present. Wendy Coffin won first prize, Margaret Oberender was second, and Ted Deyo took third.
